WSB Logo Orange 80x80The PGA Tour heads to Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina for the Wyndham Championship — the final event of the regular season and the last chance for players to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

With plenty on the line for those near the playoff cut-off, we can expect a highly competitive and pressure-filled week. In this preview, we take a closer look at the course and offer some betting angles and suggested plays.

Course Preview – Sedgefield Country Club

Sedgefield Country Club, specifically the Donald Ross-designed Ross Course, has been the permanent home of the Wyndham Championship since 2008. The venue, dating back to 1926, is a classic parkland layout located just outside downtown Greensboro. Known for its strategic demands, the course rewards precision over power.

The Ross Course plays as a par 70, measuring approximately 7,130 yards (6,520 metres), making it one of the shorter tracks on the PGA Tour. Its challenges lie not in length but in design — tight, tree-lined fairways, small undulating Bermuda greens, and well-positioned bunkers require smart shot selection and accuracy, particularly with approach play.

Water hazards are minimal, featuring significantly on only two holes, which means players can be relatively aggressive off the tee. However, the sloping greens and subtle elevation changes make putting and short game performance crucial for success.

This is typically a low-scoring event, with past winners often finishing at 20-under-par or lower and we can expect a birdie shootout.

SELECTIONS:

Matt Fitzpatrick at 21.00

There is a reason the bookies have him as favourite going into this week, Fitzpatrick has been on a really solid run of form. In his last four starts on tour he has finished in the top ten three times and the top twenty once. His best results came at the Open Championship and Scottish Open where he finished tied fourth in both events. With a number of top players sitting out this week, I think he stands a very good chance of winning this weekend.

Matt Fitzpatrick each way at 21.00

Kurt Kitayama at 46.00

Kitayama is another player who is coming into this week on a solid run of form. He is coming off the back of a win last weekend at the 3M Open and a top fifteen and top five finish in his two starts before that. I think he stands a very good chance of competing this week.

Kurt Kitayama each way at 46.00

Sungjae Im at 61.00

Im has a very impressive record at the Wyndham Championship. In his last six starts at the tournament, he has finished in the top ten three times, the top twenty once and the top twenty-five on another occasion. He has not been on the best run of form recently but is returning to a course where he often does well. This is often all the professionals need to find their form again.

Sungjae Im each way at 61.00
