The Paarl Royals take on the Pretoria Capitals in Paarl this afternoon and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.
The Paarl Royals are currently sitting 5th on the table on 9 points from their 6 games with 2 wins and 4 defeats. Having started the Tournament around the 3/1 market, they have drifted out to 6/1 to win outright.
The Pretoria Capitals are flying high on 18 points with 4 wins and 1 loss from 5 games. They are 5 points clear at the top of the table and with a game in hand over teams chasing them. Pretoria Capitals have shortened into 9/2 favourites to win the Tournament.

PAARL ROYALS
The Paarl Royals were in action yesterday when they hosted MI Cape Town in Paarl. The home team won the toss and decided to bowl first restricting MI Cape Town to 142 for 9 with Fortuin getting 2 for 22 off his 4 overs and Shamsi and Ngidi also picking up two wickets apiece. There was a point in the innings where it looked like they would restrict MI Cape Town to a 100 or a 120 so they would have been a bit disappointed having to chase a competitive score.
Jos Buttler starred for the Royals scoring 68 off 58 balls in the response, but no one else really got going and they were restricted to 129 for 6 off 20 overs putting them under big pressure heading into this match.
PRETORIA CAPITALS
The Pretoria’s last match was away to the Durban Super Giants on Friday and having lost the toss and made to bowl they quickly had their opponents in trouble getting them all out for 80 runs. Muthusamy was pick of the bowlers with 3 for 12 off 4 overs and he was ably supported by Bosch and Parnell who both picked up two wickets at economic run rates.
They lost Phil Salt to the first ball of the innings in the reply to the innings, but Will Jacks turned in another impressive performance with 56 off 25 balls and the Capitals got up with 8 wickets and nearly 12 overs to spare.

Paarl Royals 12/10
Pretoria Capitals 7/10
Suggested Bet: Over 1, Pretoria Capitals Total over 5.5 runs at 17/20
This bet has been a good one for me in Pretoria Capitals matches as they tend to go hard from the start and Salt and Jacks have been two of the stars of the Tournament so far.
Suggested Bet: Player to score the most 6’s, Pretoria Capitals, Jacks at 3/1
Jacks has been in phenomenal form and my only question mark about this bet is how he adapts to the slower Paarl track. He looks to me like the sort of player who could score runs on any surface and here is hoping for another big Jacks innings.
