Betting Preview
Outright Winner
There are plenty of big names sure to be in the mixer this week at the Port Royal Golf Course in Bermuda:
Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick endured a tough Ryder Cup last month but is regularly one of the most consistent operators on the PGA and European Tour and he will be eager to put a performance in here.
Former Masters Champion Patrick Reed has endured a 2021 blighted by injury and illness but he is a classy operator, and he could well be in the mix here in Bermuda.
Irishman Seamus Power is a superb ball striker and conditions here in Bermuda should suit his game. With plenty of other players potentially more fancied, he could sneak under the radar.
English former Masters champion Danny Willett showed his class by winning the Alfred Dunhill Championship last month and he could well be in the running in this one.
Former US Open champion Graeme McDowell consistently rolls back the years on both the PGA and European Tours and he could well be in the running here in Bermuda.
1st Round Leader
Producing the goods over 72 holes is often the most difficult thing for any golfer to do therefore here are our first-round leader picks:-
Chilean Mito Pereira is a very consistent performer on the PGA Tour and how he would love to cap his breakthrough season with a fast start to the week here in Bermuda.
Fresh off the back off back to back top 10’s on the PGA Tour, Hayden Buckley arrives in Bermuda in excellent form, and he should be confident of scoring low from the outset.
2013 USPGA Champion Jason Dufner has endured a relatively quiet season by his high standards, but he is a terrific player, capable of mixing it with the big boys in any field.
Top Ten Finish
With so many quality players assembled here in Bermuda, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 10 come Sunday:-
Christiaan Bezuidenhout – 11/8
South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout is becoming a seriously consistent performer across both tours, and he is regularly in the mix in every tournament he plays.
Canadian Adam Hadwin has seriously improved in 2021 and he should absolutely relish conditions here in Bermuda.
Former world number 9 Nick Watney hits the ball as clean as anybody on the PGA Tour and whilst 2021 hasn’t been his best year, he could be in contention here.
