The PGA Tour travels to Louisiana for one of the most exciting events of the year, The Zurich Classic a rare team event played at the TPC Louisiana course.
With players pairing up in teams of two, they will compete alternating between better-ball (four-ball and alternate shot (foursomes) formats and we select 3 pairing to take on the bookmakers.
THE COURSE
The Zurich Classic will be played at TPC Louisiana for the 19th time. The course plays to a par 72 and is littered with bunkers.
Water will come into play on 8 of the 18 holes. The greens are very undulating and are smaller than tour average. Bunker play and being able to land the ball on the right part of the green will be key for the teams this week but most of all teams will need hot putters and the ability to dovetail in rounds 1 and 3 (four-balls).

SELECTIONS:
Billy Horschel and Tom Hoge at 29.00
Horschel has had an impressive record at this tournament with a win, runner-up, fourth place and two top 15s in in his last six starts. Hoge has also managed two top 15s at the Zurich Classic in his career. The pair have been on decent form recently with Hoge securing two top 5’s, a top 15 and a top 20 finish in his last four starts while Horschel has had one top 5 finish in his last three starts.
Suggested Bet: Each way at 29.00.
Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin at 41.00
This will be the third time in a row the two pair up together. They finished runner-up in 2023 and 10th in 2024 and will be looking to improve on that this weekend. Both have been playing mediocre on tour recently, making their last two cuts, but not breaking into the top 20. They will be relying on their chemistry to be high up on the leaderboard come the back 9 on Sunday.
Suggested Bet: Each way at 41.00.
Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry at 4.60
So you thought I was going to leave the hot favourites out did you?
It is hard to bet against them this weekend.
McIlroy is coming off his fifth Major and Grand Slam after winning the Masters two weeks ago. He also won the Players a few weeks before that as well as a 5th place and 15th place finish in his other two starts.
Lowry finished 18th at last weekend’s RBC Heritage after being in contention at the Master the week before going into Sunday before a poor final round. In his four starts before that he finished 20th or better on every occasion with two of the finishes being top 10s. To top it all off the pair are defending champions after winning the tournament together last year.
Both players enjoy team golf and are patriotic and I just have to have them on my side this week.
Suggested Bet: Win only at 4.60
