The AT&T Byron Nelson takes place at the TPC Craig Ranch, McKinney, Texas this week and we select 4 players to take on the bookmakers.
Craig Ranch plays to a par 72 with fairly generous tree-lined fairways and plenty of water to punish those straying too far. The rough is fairly tame though and last year when the course hosted the Byron Nelson for the 1st time the top 5 all broke -20. It appears from the limited data we have to go on that accurate iron play could be the key to victory this week.
US Masters champion Scottie Scheffler tops the betting boards at 10/1 ahead of Justin Thomas 14/1 and Jordan Spieth 18/1 and you can get 20/1 and better the balance. Last years winner KH Lee was the 3rd triple digit winner of this event in 4 years.

Will Zalatoris each way at 25/1
Zalatoris finished in the Top 20 on his first visit to the course last year and he has been in solid form of late with 3 consecutive Top 10 finishes and 2 of those in the Top 5. He is a player who is known to go well on easy courses and in a week when many of the top players will be thinking about next weeks major he is my headline pick.
Joohyung Kim each way at 125/1
This is an event where outsiders go well and Kim comes in here on top form with 3 consecutive Top 5 finishes. Kim makes his debut at the course, but if he can carry his recent form through he looks a likely contender.
Charl Schwartzel each way at 160/1
Yes, I am including the former US Masters winner from South Africa and what initially caught the eye was his T3 finish here in 2021. He went well in the US Masters a few weeks back before fading and his subsequent form hasn’t been great, but that is the reason we are getting such a big price.
Kurt Kitayama each way at 100/1
I am certainly loading up on the outsiders this week. Kitayama comes into the event in cracking form with a runner-up finish and a Top 15 in his last 2 starts. He plays the course for the first time, but so do many of the players.
