The MotoGP grid heads to Spain and the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto on Sunday and Marc Marquez starts as a hot favourite to win his home race.
We will take a look at this week’s race from a betting angle.
PREVIOUS RACE – QATAR
Two weeks ago Marc Marquez dominated in Qatar getting Pole Position, Fastest Lap and he beat Bagnaia into 2nd place by almost 5 seconds with Morbidelli rounding out the podium.
CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
Marc Marquez has taken the lead of the Championship and sits on 123 points while Alex Marquez is on 106 points. Bagnaia is sitting 26 points off the top on 97 points.
Marc is trading at 1.11 to win the Championship while the bookies have Bagnaia at 6.50 and Alex at 11.00.

Spanish Grand Prix 2024
Last year’s race saw Bagnaia getting the win. Marc Marquez finished in second only 0.372 seconds off the lead while Bezzecchi grabbed third place. Alex Marquez finished in fourth place 7.205 off the pace and the 1st 5 positions were all filled by Ducati.

VERDICT
Bagnaia will be looking to make amends Qatar where he was dominated by Marquez. He won the Spanish GP last year and has the experience he needs to win the race again. The bookies have Marc Marquez 1.30 for the win and that is too short for my pocket and I think the value lies with Bagnaia at 5.50 at the time of writing.
