The 2nd Leg of the MTN 8 Cup Semi-Finals takes place this weekend and we suggest a bet in each match.
SATURDAY
Mamelodi Sundowns v Orlando Pirates – Click here to bet
Sundowns saw off SuperSport United 2-0 in their quarter-final before playing out a goalless draw at Orlando Pirates in the semi-final 1st leg. Sundowns are currently top of the PSL table, level on points with Richards Bay, but having played two games less and they have won their last 4 games in the League.
Pirates beat Royal AM 2-1 on the road in their quarter-final and they are currently 4th on the PSL log, 3 points behind Sundowns, but having played two more games. They are unbeaten in their last 3 taking 5 points out of a possible 9.
Prior to the goalless draw in the 1st leg, Mamelodi Sundowns had won 5 matches in a row against Pirates in all competitions and 4 of those wins were by more than a goal. The draw is once again a big runner here I have little doubt, but I do think Mamelodi Sundowns can do the business inside the 90 minutes and in front of their own fans.
Suggested Bet: Mamelodi Sundowns win at 17/20
SUNDAY
AmaZulu v Kaizer Chiefs – Click here to bet
AmaZulu booked their spot in the semi-final courtesy of a 2-1 away win over Cape Town City. They then travelled to Kaizer Chiefs where the match finished 1-1, setting up what should be a tense 2nd leg. AmaZulu have slipped to 9th in the PSL table and are without a win their last 5 starts.
Chiefs won their quarter-final 2-1 at Stellenbosch and they would have been disappointed to only draw with AmaZulu in the first leg of the semi-finals. Chiefs are currently 5th on the log in the PSL, but have seen their winning run ended and have only taken 1 point from their last 6 they have played for.
There have been very little separating these sides in recent meetings, in fact their last 4 games have all been drawn. Given South African teams normally take a conservative strategy in Cup matches I think getting above 2/1 on the draw is good value here.
Suggested Bet: The draw at 21/10
