The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix takes place at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit this weekend and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.
Defending Champion, Max Verstappen stormed out of the blocks in the opening Grand Prix of the season with a comfortable win in Bahrain. The Red Bull started on the front row of the grid with teammate Sergio Perez alongside him and the pair duly finished first and second in the race with Fernando Alonso a distant 3rd.
Max Verstappen has already shortened in to 1/4 to win the Drivers Championship with Alonso at 10/1, Hamilton and Leclerc at 12/1 and you can get 16/1 Perez.

SAUDI ARABIAN GP
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix first took place in 2021 where Lewis Hamilton claimed the victory and in 2022 Max Verstappen finished 5 seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc with Leclerc’s Ferrari teammate, Carlos Sainz Jnr taking the final spot on the podium.
The track itself is very different to what was experienced in Bahrain and it is a steep circuit with lots of long straights and fast corners. Managing wear and tear on tyres and fuel consumption will be crucial as it is also a test of endurance.

This bet doesn’t take much imagination given Verstappen finished last season in cracking form and has begun very much where he left off.
The Red Bull looks dominant and although I don’t usually take such short prices, World Sports Betting are offering a promotion this week that makes this bet a bit more attractive. Given that Perez is currently 2nd in the betting and finished runner-up to Verstappen in Bahrain this makes the Verstappen price far more attractive.
Suggested Bet: Podium Finish, Lewis Hamilton at 7/2
Hamilton was clearly off the pace of the Red Bulls in Bahrain, but he did have a solid 5th place finish which was a better start than he made last season. He has shown he can perform on this track when winning in 2021 and I am looking for more improvement from the multiple World Champion.
