WSB Logo Orange 80x80The Australian Grand Prix takes place at the Albert Park Circuit this weekend and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.

Red Bull continued their early season dominance with another one/two finish in Saudi Arabia. This time though it was Perez who finished clear of teammate, Verstappen who rode brilliantly to finish 2nd having started well down the grid.

Verstappen currently has 44 points, 1 point ahead of his teammate Perez on 43. Verstappen remains a short price favourite at 1/5 to win the Title with Perez priced at 10/1 and you can get 12/1 Alonso and 25/1 and better the balance.

AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX

Charles Leclerc dominated the 2022 Australian Grand Prix getting the fastest lap, pole position and the victory in his Ferrari. He was chased home by Perez with George Russell completing the podium.

The Australian Grand Prix wasn’t held in 2020 and 2021 and back in 2019 it was Valtteri Bottas who took the chequered flag and maximum points.

The Albert Park Circuit is 5.3 kilometres long and is a mixture of 16 fast and slow corners. The surface is smooth with overtaking opportunities although tire management is important with heavy braking required into some of the corners.

Max Verstappen 4/10

Sergio Perez 9/2

Fernando Alonso 10/1

Charles Leclerc 20/1

Lewis Hamilton 33/1

40 /1 and better the balance

Suggested Bet:   Sergio Perez win at 9/2

Max Verstappen is understandably very short for this race at 4/10, but it is must be noted that he doesn’t have the best of records here in Australia and if there is a track to challenge him on it might well be this one.

His teammate, Perez is clearly in excellent form with a 2nd place and a victory already in the first 2 Grand Prix’s of the season and he also has a runner-up finish here to his credit last season suggesting he enjoys the track.

Note the World Sports Betting Special this weekend that if you back the driver to wins the race and if he wins and gets the fastest lap then you can double your winnings in Free Bets. Terms and Conditions apply.

Suggested Bet: Points Finish Valtteri Bottas at 2/1

Bottas finished with points in the opening Grand Prix of the season, but didn’t go well in Saudi Arabia finishing 18th. As mentioned above he is a past winner of this Grand Prix and I am going to take him to go well on a track where he has performed well in the past.
