BettingDiaryThere are 4 DSTV Premiership matches taking place on Saturday and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

Let’s have a quick look at the latest Outright Betting where Mamelodi Sundowns are trading as 7/20 favourites to defend their title, Orlando Pirates are the only other team quoted in single figures 8/1 and you can get 14/1 and better the balance.

Chippa United v Marumo Gallants – Click here to bet

Chippa United are 13th on the table after securing their second win in 8 matches last time out beating AmaZulu 2-1 on the road. Their last home game was a tight 1-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.

They face a Marumo Gallants side currently sitting second last on the log without a victory in their 7 games. They do however have an incredible 6 draws in this time and last time out played a 1-1 home draw with Kaizer Chiefs. Their only defeat came in their last away match going down 1-0 at Orlando Pirates and under 2.5 goal backers would have been in the profits in 6 of the 7 Marumo Gallants matches.

These are two unpredictable sides and I am not going to pick a winner, but hope for a repeat of last season’s 5 goal thriller in this fixture and I am going to be backing over 2.5 goals.

Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 39/20

Golden Arrows v Swallows – Click here to bet

Golden Arrows are currently 12th on the table, 1 position behind Swallows on 11th, both teams are on 8 points after 7 games. Arrows last game was a 2-1 loss away at Sundowns, but their last home match was a 3-2 victory over Chippa United and they have taken 4 points from a possible 9 at home.

Swallows are coming off a 2-1 home defeat to Stellenbosch and their last away game was a 1-1 draw away at Marumo Gallants. An interesting and unlikely stat in Swallows matches is that both teams have found the back of the net in 5 of their 7 games and I am going to stick my neck out and say that this trend will continue.

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, yes, at 13/10

Sekhukhune v Stellenbosch – Click here to bet

Sekhukhune are currently bottom of the log with 1 win in their opening 7 games. Last time out they played a goalless draw at Cape Town City and their last home match was a 2-1 loss to Royal AM. Sekhukhune have taken 4 points from a possible 9 at home this season and there are no obvious trends in the goal scoring department.

Stellenbosch’s last game was a 2-1 win over Swallows and that moved them up to 8th on the table and broke a run of 3 successive matches without a victory. They have taken 5 points from a possible 12 on the road and over 2.5 goal backers would have collected profits in 4 of the last 5 PSL games. It is really a tough game to call and I am going to go for both teams to score at a tempting price.

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, yes, at 15/10

Kaizer Chiefs v SuperSport United – Click here to bet

It has struck me that I am looking for high scoring games in the PSL this weekend and that certainly worries me as they are notoriously low scoring. Let’s hope I have picked them correctly though as we move on to the Kaizer Chiefs v SuperSport match.

Chiefs are currently sitting 14th on the table just outside the relegation zone with 8 points from their opening 7 games. They are coming off back-to-back draws away at Marumo Gallants and at home to AmaZulu.

SuperSport are currently 6th on the log and have turned their season around with 3 successive victories, most recently 2-1 away at Maritzburg United.

Last season it was the away team which won on each occasion and I am backing that trend to continue as I really haven't been impressed by Chiefs this season and I don’t think they warrant their current 11/10 price tag.

Suggested Bet: SuperSport win at 29/10
