The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend 12th to 13th October including the United Rugby Championship
The Good
As the headline of last week’s Newsletter suggested, the points flowed in Johannesburg and collecting on the over 53.5 was one of the highlights of the weekend for me. I also did very well in the Bulls game where I took the early -13.5 and then took over 41.5 Bulls points and I also had a nice win on Munster -12.5 in shocking conditions.
The Bad
It wasn’t all good news though and the Sharks, although winning the match against the Dragons, failed to deliver on the handicap and although I was on the early -13.5 Leinster against Benetton I got greedy and took them to score over 5.5 tries, a bet that looked sure to land after 30 minutes. Unfortunately, Leinster then stepped off the gas and their 5th try only came in the 80th minute.
& The Ugly
To make matters worse I threw some money in-running at the Toyota Challenge match between the Cheetahs and Griffons where I fell a try short of landing the overs and I then stayed up on Sunday night to watch England v New Zealand women’s rugby, confidently backing the English to win by 13 points or more. I split the stake between bookmakers and when I logged on, on Monday morning, it turned out I took New Zealand +12.5 with one of them so pretty much broke square in the game.
It is amazing how those errors never seem to go in your favour.
THE HANDICAP
Oracle and I worked our way through the 8 URC fixtures on last night’s show and most of the live audience hung around to listen to the discussion on team selections and rugby strategy – it was a great chat.

WEEKEND PLAYS
Bok Women to outmuscle Italians!
I am certainly looking forward to some of the URC action but with 1 year to go until the Women’s Rugby World Cup I am really excited for some of the Internationals taking place this weekend.
Canada v England should be a great game but it is South Africa v Italy which catches my eye, so much so that I even put this You Tube preview together where I outline my case for the Bok Women.
Simply put I think they are massive runners against Italy tomorrow

URC
All URC bets on games not featuring SA teams will be posted in this article
It is another weekend where I like a lot in the URC but to quote the Oracle there is not much I will be throwing “Granny’s Pension” at.
I was lining up an Irish unders double but the line for Leinster dropped to 45.5 from 49.5 and I am going to rethink. The other unders I like is Ulster v Connacht at 49.5
A Local is Lekka Treble
Previews on the 4 matches featuring SA teams are available here - I will get the Lions and Bulls preview bets up tonight or early tomorrow
I like the Stormers and Sharks to win as I had priced both up as narrow favourites and I also like a strong Bulls team to get the job done at the Ospreys.
