The second test match between South Africa and India gets under way at The Wanderers on Monday and the visitors lead the series 1-0 with two to play.
The first test was staged at Centurion and India won it by 113 runs. KL Rahul made 123 of India's bat first total of 327 and Ngidi took 6 wickets. The Proteas reply finished on 197 with Bavuma (52) the only batsman to make a half century and Shami took 5 wickets.
India were in control but there was a fightback of sorts as they were bowled out for 174 in their second knock with Jansen and Rabada both taking 4 wickets. The Proteas were still faced with a huge task in their second innings and although Elgar made 77 they were bowled out for 191 with Bumrah and Shami claiming 3 wickets a piece.
KL Rahul's first innings century earned him the Man of the Match award.
After the game Quinton de Kock announced his retirement from test cricket. This was how the teams lined up in the first test.
South Africa: Dean Elgar (c), Aiden Markram, Keegan Petersen, Rassie van der Dussen, Temba Bavuma, Quinton de Kock (wk), Wiaan Mulder, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi
India: KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj
Recent Head to Head
Aside from the first test of this series the most recent meeting came in October 2019 in India and the Proteas were soundly beaten in all 3 matches.
India's most recent test series in South Africa came in 2018. The Proteas won the first 2 matches and India claimed a consolation victory in the third and final contest.

Over the course of the last decade the Proteas have won 5, lost 3 and drawn 1 of 9 test matches at this venue.
The only draw came against India back in 2013 and when the teams met here in 2018 India won by 63 runs
The most recent test match at this ground saw the Proteas beat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets 12 months ago.

The Verdict
Given a clean bill of health I don't see India making many changes and the Proteas need some stability in the batting line up which came up way short at
Centurion.
Despite a poor game at Centurion van der Dussen is worth sticking with in the top SA 1st innings bat market on a ground he knows well.
Additional interest comes in the player performance market (Run = 1pt. Catch = 10pts. Wicket = 20pts. Stumping = 25pts) where I am backing Rishabh Pant to make short work of his quote.
Bets: Top SA Run Scorer 1st Innings van der Dussen at 9/2
Player Performance Rishabh Pant over 105.5 at 17/20
