Midweek Currie Cup returns on Wednesday and we take a look at all 3 games from a betting angle.
PUMAS v GOLDEN LIONS
The Pumas are currently 5th on the table having beaten Western Province 37-11 on the road last time out. Their only other victory this season was away at the Lions in Round 2 when they also won convincingly 50-9. The Pumas 3 home matches have all ended in defeats against the Bulls, Cheetahs and Sharks.
The Lions are bottom of the table and still looking for their first victory in the competition. They were well beaten by the Bulls at home last time out going down 40-10 and they have yet to win a game this season and they have lost every game by a double figure margin. Most of their matches have been high scoring this season with the game against the Bulls totalling 50 points their lowest of the campaign.
In 2021 the Pumas won this fixture 39-10.

Pumas 1/20
Draw 55/1
Lions 10/1
Handicap: Pumas (-24.5)
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Golden Lions (+24.5) at 9/10
The Lions have been poor, but I quite like the look of the team they have selected and I think they can stay within the handicap.
GRIQUAS v SHARKS
The Griquas are 4th on the log and another home victory here will go a long way towards edging them towards a playoff spot. The Sharks are 1 position and 3 points above them in the table in 3rd.
Looking at Griquas recent form they were too strong for the Lions at home last time out winning by 32 points and prior to that they had lost at home against a strong Bulls side 53-27.
The Sharks have lost their last 2 games in succession going down 29-15 to the Cheetahs at home and 35-21 to the Bulls away.
These sides met in Durban earlier in the season with the Sharks conceding a late try to allow the Griquas to go down by only 1 point.
Last season the Sharks won this fixture 30-16 in Kimberley.

Griquas 8/11
Draw 25/1
Sharks 5/4
Handicap: Griquas (-2.5)
Suggested Bet: Griquas -2.5 at 9/10
The Griquas know they have an excellent chance of going deep in this Currie Cup competition and although the Sharks put out a decent side, they are of course missing the URC players and I think Griquas will be too strong here.
BLUE BULLS v WESTERN PROVINCE
The Bulls are currently 2nd on the table, 1 point behind the Cheetahs with both sides having played 6 games. Western Province look a long shot to make the playoffs though with just 1 win in 6 matches and they currently sit 2nd from bottom of the log and 8 points off a Top 4 place.
The Bulls have won their last 3 games in a row beating the Lions by 30 points in Johannesburg, the Sharks by 14 points in Pretoria and the Griquas by 26 points in Kimberley. The Bulls beat Western Province by 19 points in Cape Town earlier in the season and last season the Bulls won by 17 at home in the semi-final, but it was Province who took the group match by 24 points.

Bulls 1/6
Draw 40/1
Western Province 9/2
Handicap: Bulls (-14.5)
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Western Province (+14.5) at 9/10
This is a strong Bulls outfit, but I quite like the team Western Province are putting up here and I actually think they are going to be competitive and push the Bulls all the way.
