WEDNESDAY

BRIGHTON v TOTTENHAM

Brighton are currently 13th on the log, but on a terrible run that has seen them lose 5 matches in a row.  Their last game was a 2-0 home defeat to Liverpool, their third successive home loss and they failed to score a goal in their last 3 home games.

Tottenham currently sit 8th on the table and they have been really inconsistent, 5 games ago beating Manchester City 3-2 on the road, but also losing 1-0 to Burnley away from home just a few days later.  Last time out they lost 3-2 away at Old Trafford.

A quick look at the goal stats of the sides shows that Brighton home games average just 2 goals each with only 3 of the 14 matches getting you a profit had you backed over 2.5 goals.  There is a 50% split of over and under 2.5 goals in Tottenham away games.

Brighton 9/4

Draw 23/10

Tottenham 13/10

Suggested Bet:  Tottenham win at 13/10

This could be quite a cagey affair as Brighton’s confidence is low and Tottenham like teams to run at them.  Tottenham should be too strong though against a Brighton side that is really battling to score goals.

ARSENAL v LIVERPOOL

Liverpool are currently 2nd on the table, 2 positions and 15 points ahead of Arsenal who have played 2 games less than them.  Both sides are in cracking form with Arsenal having won their last 5 and Liverpool their last 8 League games.

The Gunners beat Leicester 2-0 at home on the weekend, their 3rd successive home victory.  There has been a 50% split between over and under 2.5 goals in Arsenal home games this season.

Liverpool’s most recent action was away at Brighton where they won 2-0 and they have only lost twice in 14 starts on the road this season.  10 of the 14 Liverpool away matches have seen 3 goals or more scored.

Liverpool beat Arsenal 4-0 at home in the reverse fixture and they also did the double over Arsenal last season.

Arsenal 28/10

Draw 29/10

Liverpool 10/11

Suggested Bet:  Liverpool win at 10/11

Both sides are in great form and this should be a cracking encounter.  The over 2.5 goals looks correctly priced at around 5/8 and I am going to stick with a Liverpool win against a side which they have dominated in recent seasons.

THURSDAY

EVERTON v NEWCASTLE UNITED

Everton are currently sitting in 17th position just above the relegation zone and they have lost 8 of their last 9 matches and their last 4 in succession.  Their most recent game was a 1-0 home loss to Wolves and Everton have failed to score in their last 4 games.

Newcastle currently sit 14th on the table and they saw a run of 3 successive victories halted when they lost 1-0 at Chelsea on the weekend.  Newcastle have won 3 of their last 5 away games.

Everton 11/8

Draw 95/40

Newcastle 21/10

Suggested Bet:  Newcastle win at 21/10

That Chelsea defeat was Newcastle’s only loss in their last 10 matches so they have some good form and they play against an Everton side that looks totally out of sorts.  I think anything above 2/1 on Newcastle to win is great value.
