Royal ProfileThe latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend 6th to 7th July including international rugby, the Tour de France and the Durban July

The first Saturday of July is always one I look forward to with anticipation.
In our family we call it “JULY DAY” and my kids were well into their teens when they realised other families don’t necessarily celebrate it in public holiday fashion.  We will have a big group of friends and family over to watch the July tomorrow and then stay on for the Springboks v Ireland Test match.

There is also the Tour de France and the EURO 2024 quarter-finals and the toughest part is going to be choosing which sport not to watch live.

HOLLYWOOD BETS DURBAN JULY
I am always amazed at the amount of hype the Durban July generates and Hollywoodbets have certainly done a superb job with their sponsorship.

Chris and his wife Natasha are in Durban with the girls to shout their beloved Royal Victory home and it should come as no surprise that we have plenty of coverage both on the Website and the YouTube Channel.

The boys on the Forum will love this day and you can

  • Durban July Betting Preview on YouTube.  I don’t get to chat to Little Woozy (Jason Dedekind) that often, but after I do, I always that much more excited for the racing than I was on the outset of the discussion

THE HANDICAP
International Rugby is back and so is The Understaker and he joined me Thursday night to talk through the four Internationals and run through the Currie Cup Betting.

TOUR DE FRANCE
The Tour de France has enjoyed an exciting first week.  Stage 8 looks a 1st glance like a bunch sprint but a closer look at the profile and weather (potential cross winds) suggests we could have a cracker on our hands. My 4 bets all with Boyles range from 13/1 to 105/1

WEEKEND BETS
Here are a few of my favoured bets for the weekend.

BET:  1 unit, Royal Victory win at 10/1 at Hollywoodbets
It wasn’t long ago that we labelled Royal Victory at 60/1 to win the Summer Cup.  As he stormed through the field that day I knew we would never see a price like that again.  Chris and the rest of the Royal Victory camp seem quietly confident and I am hoping he can bounce out of that number 1 draw, get a handy spot on the rails and then mow them down in the last few hundred metres.

BET: 5 units at 1/1  England +18.5 @4/10, Wales +18.5 @9/20 at WSB
Code: 10958452
I fancy England to push New Zealand and went for the +11.5 in the preview. In Australia v Wales I followed the Understaker who likes the Welsh +12.5 (now 11.5) and I have broken from my usual routine to take an alternative handicap double.

BET: 2 units Boks by under 12.5 at 15/10 at WSB
This is the game of the weekend but I am not strong on the cap or points and will look to the Boks to win but by no more than 12 points.

ACCA: 0.5 unit at 13/1 at WSB
Code 10958660
Over 51.5 All Blacks game
Girmay/Philipsen stage 8 match bet at 5/4
Cheetahs -15 v Griffons at 10/11
Argentina -4.5 v France

As you can see I am excited for this one.

Have a great weekend and go Royal Victory!

Cheers
