Durban July Punters Challenge Rules and Format

 

1. The Hollywoodbets Durban July 2025 Edition is related to the Hollywoodbets Durban July, Saturday 05 July 2025.

 

2. The Hollywoodbets Durban July 2025 Edition applies only to the race-meeting at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday 05 July 2025. Prize money of R250 000 for the meeting shall be shared by the Top 100 on the leaderboard as follows:

 

· Winner: R70 000

· 2nd Place: R30 000

· 3rd place: R20 000

· 4th place: R12 000

· 5th place: R8 000

· 06th – 10th place: R4 000

· 11th – 20th place: R2 000

· 21st – 40th place: R1 500

· 41st – 60th place: R1 000

· 61st – 100th place: R500

 

3. Should a client take a bet of R100 or more on the Betslip feature for the race meeting prior to the running of the first race and finish in the above positions, their prize money will be multiplied by 5 (X5) and their prize money will be as follows:

 

· Winner: R350 000

· 2nd Place: R150 000

· 3rd place: R100 000

· 4th place: R60 000

· 5th place: R40 000

· 06th – 10th place: R20 000

· 11th – 20th place: R10 000

· 21st – 40th place: R7 500

· 41st – 60th place: R5 000

· 61st – 100th place: R2 500

 

4. For the Hollywoodbets Durban July 2025 Edition of the Punters Challenge, the Jackpot prize for selecting all of the winners on the day will be set at R10 Million.

 

5. Should a client take a bet of R100 or more on the Betslip feature for the race meeting prior to the running of the first race, and select all the winners on the card, the jackpot prize will be doubled to R20 Million

 

6. In the event of a tie, the prize will be split equally among winners. This is an “all or nothing” prize and is not pro-rated.

 

7. The Hollywoodbets Durban July 2025 Edition will also include a “Must be Won” prize of R500 000 which will be shared by the player(s) who tip(s) the most winners on the day.

 

Dead-heat rules apply in the event of multiple winning players tipping the same number of winners.

 

8. The points system normally applicable as detailed below will NOT apply to this “Must Be Won” prize as the winner/s will be the player/s who tip the most winners on the day, irrespective of the starting price of those winners.

 

 

General Terms and Conditions

9. The Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge will run until further notice and may be withdrawn or amended by Hollywoodbets at any time without prior notification.

10. The competition is open to all Hollywoodbets account holders who are duly registered and verified.

11. Entry is free of charge for all eligible and registered participants.

12. Non-account holders will be redirected to register an account. Upon successful registration, their new login credentials will enable participation in the Punters Challenge.

13. Participants may enter the Challenge up to five (5) minutes before the scheduled start of the first race at the selected venue.

14. Entrants may choose to participate using either their real name (as per the registered account) or a pseudonym (“nom de plume”).

15. Hollywoodbets reserves the right to amend or reject any pseudonym deemed inappropriate, offensive, or misleading, at its sole discretion.

16. The Challenge applies to all race meetings held in South Africa, and both Happy Valley and Sha Tin (Hong Kong)

17. If any scheduled race is abandoned, selections for that race will be disabled. Existing selections will be retained; however, no points will be awarded for abandoned races.

18. In the event that a race is reinstated, a default selection—the tote favourite will be submitted automatically on behalf of participants to maintain a complete set of selections.

19. Betting-related refunds (if applicable) will be handled in accordance with Hollywoodbets’ standard refund policy.

20. Where racing is curtailed or abandoned for whatsoever reason during a meeting, then this daily prize shall be pro-rated based on the number of races completed vs the races carded on the day, provided that a minimum of four (4) races is completed. For example,

if 6 races are completed on an 8-race card, then the total prize money of R187 500 (R250 000/8*6) shall be distributed to the top 20 players.

21. Punters Challenge Jackpot – South Africa: The Punters Jackpot will be awarded to any player who correctly selects all race winners on a given South African race day.

22. The prize value equals the number of runners (excluding scratchings) multiplied by R10,000. For example, 83 runners x R10,000 = R830,000.

23. In the event of a tie, the prize will be split equally among winners. This is an “all or nothing” prize and is not pro-rated.

24. A minimum of eight (8) completed races with official results is required for the jackpot to apply.

25. On race days with only seven (7) races carded, the jackpot is capped at R100,000.

26. The jackpot prize is doubled for qualifying players who place a minimum R50 bet on the Punters Challenge Bet Slip.

27. Punters Challenge Jackpot – Hong Kong: For race meetings in Hong Kong the jackpot prize will be:

· 8 or 9 completed races: R125 000 prize

· 10 or more completed races: R250 000 prize

· Prize is doubled for qualifying R50+ Bet Slip players.

28. The jackpot will be split in the event of multiple winners. A minimum of eight (8) completed races is required to trigger the prize.

29. The Gold Challenge Edition will also include a “Must be Won” prize of R100 000 which will be shared by the player(s) who tip(s) the most winners on the day. Dead-heat rules apply in the event of multiple winning players tipping the same number of winners.

30. The points system normally applicable as detailed below will NOT apply to this “Must Be Won” prize as the winner/s will be the player/s who tip the most winners on the day, irrespective of the starting price of those winners.

31. Dead-heat rules apply in the event of ties.

32. Points are not considered for this prize—only the number of winners tipped.

33. Prize Payments: All winnings will be paid directly into winners’ Hollywoodbets accounts by 12:00 PM the day after the event.

34. Prize funds may be withdrawn or used for betting at the customer’s discretion.

35. Hollywoodbets is not liable for delays due to technical issues.

36. Points Allocation: Points are awarded based on finishing positions and the total number of runners.

· E.g., In a 10-horse race: 1st = 10 pts, 2nd = 9 pts, etc.

· Bonus points equal to the horse’s starting price (SP) are added to the winner’s score.

· Dead-heats and pulled-up horses are treated with aggregated or minimum points as appropriate.

· Points are updated cumulatively after each race and finalised by Hollywoodbets.

· No selections = 0 points.

37. The final allocation of points shall be adjudicated and finalised by the Hollywoodbets Team, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the process or the outcome.

38. Punters Challenge Bet Slip:

· Enables real bets using selections made in the Challenge.

· Stakes are deducted from the participant’s Hollywoodbets account.

· Options include taking a fixed current price or the SP.

39. Punters Challenge Lucky Picks:

· The Lucky pick feature automatically generates three bets using the selections made by the user.

· The bets generated are a Win Double, a Place Treble and a Win/Place Double

· Stakes are deducted from the participant’s Hollywoodbets account.

· Potential Payouts are calculated at Fixed Odds or the SP.

40. Bets are governed by Hollywoodbets’ General Terms and Conditions, including maximum winnings rules and horse racing regulations.

41. Bets will only be accepted where sufficient funds are available.

42. Hollywoodbets disclaims liability for any betting errors, including failure to place a bet.

43. Scratchings & Disqualifications: Scratched horses are automatically replaced by the tote favourite.

44. Disqualified horses are considered to have finished last and earn one point.

45. In the event of venue changes before 11 AM, punters may amend selections. If not, the original selections remain.

46. Rescheduled meetings will reopen for fresh selections; previous entries are void.

47. Submission & Selection Rules:

· Entries close five (5) minutes before the scheduled start of the first race

· It is each player’s sole responsibility to save selections before the cut-off.

· Selections can be edited before the deadline but must be saved to be valid.

· Hollywoodbets staff and developers may not enter any selections on behalf of any participant.

48. This competition is intended for entertainment. Hollywoodbets reserves the right to withhold prizes if any abuse of the Challenge is suspected.

49. Hollywoodbets reserves the right to suspend, amend or terminate the Challenge without notice.

50. Participants waive any claims or expectations in such circumstances.

51. By participating, all entrants accept these terms and consent to the public display of the leaderboard via digital, television, or social media platforms.

52. Employees, agents, consultants, and immediate family of Hollywoodbets or affiliated service providers are excluded. They may compete in an internal challenge only.

53. Official Winning Form tipsters may also only compete internally.
