The PSL resumes after the COVID-19 break on Tuesday night with Mamelodi Sundowns “hosting” Orlando Pirates in Dobsonville, Soweto.
Let’s start with a look at the League table and Outright Betting.
Kaizer Chiefs are currently on 48 points, 4 points ahead of Sundowns, but having played a game more. SuperSport United are a further 4 points back, but they have played 2 games more than Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have also played a game more than Chiefs and they also sit 8 points back from the League leaders.
The betting suggests that it is a 2 horse race and I would have to agree. Kaizer Chiefs are the 5/10 favourites ahead of Sundowns at 31/20 and you can get Pirates 25/1, SuperSport 40/1 and Wits at 60/1.

Sundowns were in cracking form prior to the break reeling off 4 successive victories to pile the pressure on Kaizer Chiefs. Although this is a designated home fixture for them it is pretty much being played in Orlando Pirates backyard.
Sundowns were also in action on the weekend in the Nedbank Cup, beating Wits 3-2 in what was a highly entertaining encounter.
Looking at goal scoring stats for Mamelodi Sundowns their matches have averaged 2.1 goals each with only 9 of the 21 matches delivering for over 2.5 goal backers.
Orlando Pirates are 4th on the table, but with only 7 matches left are very unlikely to challenge for the title. They wobbled into the COVID-19 break taking just 1 point from the last 6 they have played for and unlike Sundowns they haven't had a competitive match leading into this fixture, whether that will count for or against them we will find out on Tuesday night.
Orlando Pirates matches have been amongst the highest scoring in the League, averaging 2.7 goals each with just more than 50% delivering for over 2.5 goal backers, that being said 4 of their last 5 League matches have had 2 goals or less in them.
Orlando Pirates beat Sundowns 1-0 at home earlier in the season and last season both matches finished goalless but the season before it was the away team who won each fixture by 3-1.
Betting:
Mamelodi Sundowns 29/20
Draw 41/20
Orlando Pirates 41/20
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 5/4
I don’t think a draw would do either team any good here and I expect an open encounter with plenty of chances and I am betting we get 3 or more goals.
