The New Year moves into fifth gear this weekend with plenty of live exciting sport to bet on and we take a closer look in our Daily Diary.
FOOTBALL
The big boys join the FA Cup this weekend and Manchester City are the current favourites at 59/20 with Liverpool 23/4, Tottenham 27/4, Chelsea 7/2 and you can get 12/1 and better the balance.
These early January FA Cup matches can be tricky affairs and you need to look at what the motivation level of the various teams will be. The likes of Aston Villa for example are 23/10 underdogs away to Fulham and that is likely because their main prize this season will be to avoid relegation from the EPL and any FA Cup run would really be a bonus. The same could be said for Watford who are in cracking form in the League and are at home to Tranmere and have been priced as 1/4 favourites, we wouldn’t be jumping in at those prices though.
The weekend has thrown up 1 big all EPL fixture in Liverpool against Everton with Liverpool 17/20, Everton 29/10 and the draw 59/20. Liverpool are enjoying an almost perfect year, but I don’t think they would be too disappointed to bow out of this one given their Champions League and EPL ambitions. For this reason we think Everton may just be a bit of value at 29/10 for an away win.

The PSL returns in full flight this weekend and there are a couple of big games including Bloem Celtic against Pirates where Celtic are 39/20 and Pirates are 15/10 for the win and SuperSport against Kaizer Chiefs. Chiefs are, of course, topping the table heading into the New Year, but SuperSport will be looking to peg them back and are priced at 47/20 with the draw 9/4 and Chiefs are 12/10.
Sundowns are a side looking to keep the heat on Kaizer Chiefs and they are away to AmaZulu where they are 19/20 favourites.
Our best bet of the weekend though comes from another title contender, Wits who are 17/20 to win away at Stellenbosch.

TENNIS
As we build to the Australian Open, tennis fans have some action to look forward to and can bet on the ATP Cup. Saturday’s action sees the likes of Dominic Thiem, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal in action and all 3 are short-priced favourites to win their games although we do give Kevin Anderson a sneak at 21/4 of causing an upset against Djokovic.
