BettingDiaryAfter a relaxing Christmas punters have a feast of action to look forward to on Boxing Day and we take a closer look in our Daily Betting Diary.

CRICKET

The long awaited 4 Test Series between South Africa and England gets under way at Centurion on Thursday and neither side has had the perfect build up.

The visitors are coming off a series defeat at New Zealand away and they are 5/4 favourites with South Africa 27/20 and the draw priced at 9/2. There are a host of Exotic Markets available on the match and we like Joe Root to score 50 in the first innings at 12/10. There will be in-running betting throughout the match and you can Click Here to bet on South Africa v England.

Australia are short price favourites at 7/20 to see off New Zealand in the 2nd Test in Melbourne, the draw is on offer at 13/2 and the Black Caps are 5/1. We are expecting a better performance from New Zealand and the bet we fancy is Kane Williamson to be the Top Away Batsman at odds of 5/2.

The Big Bash League also continues with the Perth Scorchers at home to the Sydney Sixers and we are betting 10/11 the pair on this one.

FOOTBALL

The busy English Premier League run begins on Boxing Day and punters can take their pick from a range of fixtures.

Tottenham were disappointing in being beaten by Chelsea at home on the weekend and they will be looking to bounce back and they are 6/10 to beat Brighton at home.

Other fixtures which catch the eye on the day are Manchester United 7/20 at home to Newcastle and that price looks a bit short given United’s poor display against Watford and we quite fancy Newcastle (+1) at 22/10 in the handicap markets.

The pick of the day’s fixtures is the late kick-off where 2nd placed Leicester will be looking to close the gap on Liverpool who lead them by 10 points with a game in hand. It is Liverpool though who are favourites to win at 11/10 with the draw at 11/4 and Leicester on offer at 12/5. This should be an entertaining affair and the draw may well be the value play at a shade under 3/1.

RUGBY

Punters can also look out for Pro 14 Rugby on Boxing Day and for now a look at the Outright Betting where Leinster are 8/10, Munster 33/10 and you can get 35/4 and better the balance.

HORSE RACING

Boxing Day Horse Racing takes place at the Greyville Turftrack, a 9 race card starting at 12:30 and scheduled to finish at 17:17.

The shortest priced favourite on the card comes in the 1st Race, Horse No. 3, Round the Horn currently priced at 14/10 and it certainly looks like the sort of Pick Six that could pay well. If pushed for a banker we would lean towards Race 4 and Horse No. 3, Arizona Silk currently 22/10 for the win and 3/10 for a Top 4 finish.
