Posted 10 March 07h10
Here are the opening handicaps - weather links and points lines to follow later in the week
Italy +20.5 v Ireland
Wales +11.5 v England
France -17.5 v Scotland
There is a very real chance that Wales could avoid the Wooden Spoon without winning a game.
FRANCE DEAL IRELAND A CRUSHING BLOW
Posted 10 March 07h06
Followers of this blog will know that I have been firmly in the French camp and Saturdays game in Dublin was always going to be crucial.
The Irish were the slightest of favourites and for the 1st 20 minutes they were all over the French.
France kept them at bay and then started to get some ball of their own and despite the 1st half loss of Du Pont they went on to dominate Ireland in a way they have not been for many a year.
France are now 1/10 for the title and should get the job done against Scotland this weekend.
Overs punters enjoyed a great weekend with points flowing in all 3 games.
Below the results with handicap of the winner in brackets
Ireland 27 France 42 (+0.5)
Scotland 35 Wales 29 (-16.5)
England 47 Italy 24 (-20.5)
A late England try cost me the Italy +21.5 and took away a full house having backed the French and overs at Murrayfield
Here is the latest table
With such a high points difference France only need a win against Scotland at home to secure the title.
