The Round of 16 swings into action in the UEFA Champions League this week and we take a look at Tuesday’s two matches and suggest a bet in each.
Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting where Manchester City are currently the favourites at 11/4 ahead of Bayern Munich at 7/2. Other sides in single figures include Liverpool at 5/1, Chelsea at 7/1 and PSG at 17/2.

PSG v REAL MADRID
PSG won all 3 of their home matches in the group stages scoring 9 goals and conceding 3. They have been in good form in the local League and have won their last 4 League games including a somewhat subdued 1-0 home win over Rennes this past weekend.
Real Madrid were strong in the group stages losing just 1 game and winning the other 5 including all 3 away matches where they beat Inter, Sheriff Tiraspol and Shakhtar Donetsk. They didn’t concede a goal on the road in the group stages and they scored 9.
Real Madrid are coming off a disappointing goalless draw away at Villarreal on the weekend and they have only had one victory in their last 3 League matches.

I think PSG could be catching Real Madrid at just the right time and I am expecting an exciting and potentially high scoring encounter here with PSG coming away with the spoils.
SPORTING v MANCHESTER CITY
Sporting finished 2nd in their group with 3 victories and 3 losses, 2 of those victories came at home 3-1 against Dortmund and 4-0 against Besiktas although they did suffer a heavy 5-1 home defeat against Ajax. Sporting are coming off a 2-2 away draw at Porto in the League on the weekend and that broke a run of 4 successive victories in all competitions.
Manchester City won 4 and lost 2 of their matches and both defeats came on the road, away at RB Leipzig and PSG. Goals flowed in Manchester City matches and over 2.5 goal backers would have collected in 5 of the 6 games. City have been in excellent form in the English Premier League thumping Norwich 4-0 away on the weekend to retain a comfortable lead at the top of the table.

Sterling has looked in cracking form of late and a game where City are correctly very short priced favourites I am struggling to find betting value and will settle on an Anytime Goal Scorer bet. If you were to twist my arm for a bet in any of the other markets I would take the 29/20 that we will get over 3.5 goals in the game.
