WSB Logo Orange 80x80The F1 grid heads to Brazil for the last weekend of the triple header at the Interlagos Circuit in São Paulo.

Ferrari have put their foot down with a late charge and will hope to continue this momentum while Red Bull and McLaren will look to respond to last week’s results. We look at this week’s racing from a betting angle and offer a few suggested bets.

PREVIOUS RACE (Mexico GP 2024)

Last weekend saw another impressive performance from Ferrari as Carlos Sainz grabbed top spot while Charles Leclerc took third place, gaining a huge number of points for the team. Max Verstappen qualified in second followed by Lando Norris but after some brilliant racing and two ten second penalties for Verstappen, Norris managed to finish in second place while Verstappen had to settle for sixth.

DRIVERS CHAMPIONSHIP

After last week’s result, Verstappen is sitting on 362 points while Norris is sitting on 315, a point’s difference of only 47. Charles Leclerc’s recent run of form sees him on 291 points and still in touching distance. The bookies have Verstappen as favourite to win the championship at 1.20 while Norris is trading at 4.30 with Charles Leclerc trading at 34.00.

CONSTRUCTORS CHAMPIONSHIP

McLaren managed to secure more points last weekend and now sit on 566 points, however, Ferraris brilliant last two races has made them jump above Red Bull as they now sit on 537 points only 29 points behind. Red Bull have fallen behind and are only sitting on 512 points. McLaren remain favourites, trading at 1.45 while Ferrari trade at 2.75 and Red Bull at 51.00.

VERDICT

Because there is a sprint race this weekend, there are a number of extra points up for grabs and Lando Norris will be well in tune with this. With only four races remaining and 47 points between him and Verstappen, he will need a near perfect weekend if he wants to keep his Championship hopes alive. After his encounter with Verstappen last weekend and himcoming out on top, he will be going into this weekend with all the confidence while the pressure will be on Verstappen. I can see him putting in one of his best performances of the season and will back him to win with money back insurance – see promo details below.

Lando Norris to win at 3.25

Carlos Sainz had a brilliant weekend in Mexico where after qualifying first he drove a cool and calm stint all the way to the end, grabbing the top spot on the podium. Sainz does not have F1 seat at Ferrari next year and so has nothing to lose in the last few races, this will give him the fearlessness which an experienced driver like himself can use to put in a strong race. If Sainz holds the form he showed weekend he should be competing for the win. He is 3.40 to finish 2nd but I give him a chance of going back to back and will back him for a top 2 finish.

Carlos Sainz top 2 finish at 2.00
