Lions EllisParkThe latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend 13th to 15th September including the Currie Cup semi finals

A couple of our smaller plays went belly-up last week, but the Boks -4.5 arrived (only just) to save the day after another thrilling battle between the Springboks and the All Blacks and nothing beats high quality Test Rugby.

It was a good weekend for me as I also backed Australia over 21.5 points, although after they raced to 20 points I had to wait until close to the end of the match before the bet finally delivered and I have no idea how they turned a 20-3 lead into a 40 point defeat. Argentina looked very good when they started to get on top and the tests against the Boks will be interesting.

From a rugby perspective this is a relatively quiet weekend with the Currie Cup semi-finals and some NPC action.

I will be focusing on the former and I am coming out early with the newsletter as I think the markets are going to move in the Lions v Cheetahs match.

THE HANDICAP
A reminder that you tune in live for tonight’s The Handicap “Rugby chat that matters” where I will be joined by The Understaker and The Oracle to talk Currie Cup semi-finals, some NPC and also chat Rugby Championship with a look ahead to next week’s matches.

WEEKEND PLAY

I will be posting all Currie Cup picks in this Blog and the first bet went up earlier this morning and I think it is worthy of an early edition of the Newsletter.

Lions to tear Cheetahs a new one!
I have a sneaky suspicion that the Lions are going to include a number of their URC players in the team, but even without that I would have been fancying the Lions to deliver the handicap of -10.5 (There is some 10.5 available and if you are a Cheetahs backer you can get +12.5 at the time of writing).
The Lions won by 17 in Bloemfontein and I am confident this line is going to move, in fact, I predict a starting handicap in this match of -15.5.
I would take anything up to -12.5 before pondering my position further.

That’s it for now folks, but strap yourself in for what is a hectic schedule of Rugby over the coming weeks as the URC and Gallagher Premiership get going again while we still have the Rugby Championship to conclude.

Cheers
